Description

Opportunity for a self-starter who enjoys working independently as well as being part of a valuable team within an ever-changing culture that is fast paced. As the Safety & Compliance Lead you will partake in compliance audits of State and Federal regulations, and other industry-specific and asset-specific safety regulations at our client’s owned and operated facilities. Audit the full range of client’s safety procedures and  operations, with a focus on environmental, health and safety (EHS) regulatory environments.

Responsibilities
  • The Safety & Compliance Manager will support the written safety programs, procedures, and requirements of the client’s organization
  • He/she will coordinate work with Subcontractors, in order to uphold compliance and safety standards
  • Coordinate and conduct field compliance audits at company owned and operated facilities to verify compliance with State and Federal regulations, and the full range of client’s safety procedures
  • Prepare audit reports, including tracking and documentation of findings to completion
  • Develop recommended corrective actions and provide photographs to support audit findings and good practices
  • Staying abreast of all applicable federal, state, and local safety regulations
  • Keeping current with any changes in regulations and implementing changes accordingly
  • Ensuring manuals, policies and procedures are in place and in adherence to regulations and company expectations
  • Assist in implementation of and adherence to the Company s procedures
  • Work with field locations to identify solutions to audit findings
  • Assist in the development and enhancement of compliance review policies and procedures
  • Proactively plan, organize and oversee assigned work programs
Requirements
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) Certification is desirable
  • Experienced with author training material on various safety related items
  • The ability to provide training on various safety programs
  • Track compliance with safety KPIs on an ongoing basis
  • Behavioral Based Safety (BBS) Experience
  • Knowledge of safety and health standards, rules, regulations – Working knowledge of safe work practices, accident investigation techniques, and OSHA, ANSI, NFPA, DOT, AAR, FRA is highly desirable
  • Ability to read through and understand legal code/laws for research
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and experience with Behavior Based Safety (BBS) is a plus
  • Advanced proficiency level with Microsoft applications and database software, specifically including but not limited to: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are necessary, including experience providing training, and interaction with employees and all levels of management
  • Must be able to successfully perform multiple tasks with strict and sometimes simultaneous deadlines
