Description

This position if critical to AMI’s success and more importantly, our client’s success. At AMI we are proud of our legacy of being a leader in physical asset management consulting services. The goal of the Maintenance & Repair Technical Director is to help our clients achieve maximum operation utilization of their assets, minimizing downtime, while lowering the total cost of ownership over the economic lifecycle of the asset or fleet of assets. Our cradle to grave approach will consider all effectors that may negatively impact the client’s bottom line. This is a highly visible position requiring constant contact with almost all departments within AMI as well as the client and their respective vendors.

Responsibilities
  • Leverages, develops, and applies maintenance and reliability work processes, tools, and technology to deliver cost effective maintenance and unit reliability
  • Assist Consulting Team in the analysis of client’s assets
  • Partake in the development and approval of client status decks with the Consulting Team
  • Manage, train and delegate tasks to your team of Analysts
  • Supervise repair operations via effective coordination of your direct reports
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in order to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients and customers
  • Maintain the task schedule for multiple projects at the same time
  • Drive performance metrics both internally and externally
  • Determine the best course of maintenance; in-house, 3rd party, on-road repairs
  • Assist with and help develop the refurb, rebuild, reman matrix for each project
  • Assist with the preparation of maintenance budgets
  • Assess productivity, safety, & quality of work in each area of the client’s operation as it applies to the project
  • Perform evaluations of AMI’s and client’s vendors
  • Assist in the preparation of accident reports
  • Supervise the taking and accuracy of physical inventory and condition reporting
Requirements
  • Able to travel domestically and internationally
  • Flexible to working different shifts; Possibly weekends
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software as required to complete and maintain records Adaptability to use AMI’s ERP and CRM
  • Willing and able to wear safety equipment
  • Physical ability to climb ladders, enter tanks or confined spaces. Tolerant of working or inspecting equipment at extreme heights
  • Visual acuity for safety
  • AAR, FRA, DOT, OSHA, ANSI, NFPA knowledge highly desirable
  • Knowledge of safety practices, welding & metal fabrication, blueprint reading, electric schematics, pneumatic schematics highly desirable
  • Technical college and/or manufacturer’s training and certifications preferred
