Description
As the Procurement – MRO Lead, you will develop, implement and maintain assigned commodity strategies that support and advance our client’s long and short-term strategic objectives and program-modification policies. Assist with evaluating the market conditions for the Valuation Team and assist with the MRO justification analysis. Negotiate agreements to deliver value and reduce the overall project cost model. You will also, develop and maintain positive supplier relationships, coordinate information flow to all key internal business partners and senior management regarding supplier performance. Effective project management skills will be critical in this role.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage professional relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders yielding effective partnerships.
- Support category sourcing strategies including development and execution of clearly defined sourcing events; document bid process through supplier communication; drive the selection of suppliers in collaboration with cross-functional teams; conduct supplier negotiations; and ongoing supplier management
- Develop negotiation strategies, gain alignment from stakeholders, lead cross-functional, category-based negotiation teams, and implement appropriate supplier risk analysis.
- Use current spend information/data and business knowledge to identify sourcing projects for individual subcategories and develop an overall cost reduction plan.
- Create and defend category strategies and decisions with sound analytics. Collaborate with key analytical support functions; synthesize results.
- Purchase materials, equipment, and services in the assigned commodity portfolio, consistent with considerations of quality, reliability of source and urgency of need.
- Expedite documentation and deliveries of orders to maintain on-time delivery requirements.
- Effectively use CRM, and AMI’s ERP to create and maintain supplier agreements, pricing, or commodity analytics in a timely manner.
- Effectively interact / communicate with Consulting Staff, Upper Management, cient, project management and suppliers regarding commodity management activities.
- Perform other purchasing duties, as needed, including bid tab creation, maintain PO / Proposal logs and folders, and supplier setup.
Requirements
- Superior analytical skills
- Excellent networking and communication skills complemented by the ability to develop and sustain strategic vendor and manufacturer relationships
- Self-Starter with a track record of strategic initiative development and management
- Ability to develop and apply quantitative economics
- Develop cost and total cost of ownership models
- Coordinate with Finance and Credit to incorporate alternative funding solutions
- Strong written and communication skills
- Advanced MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint knowledge
- Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
- Negotiating and contract terms experience a plus
- Equipment procurement, maintenance contract, and warranty extension experience a plus
